Let this be a lesson to all of you: don't believe everything you read (or hear).
In a Toronto Film Festival interview for Kiss 92.5 Radio in Toronto, radio personality DamnIt Maurie [Sherman] of the Roz & Mocha Show told "Harry Potter" star Daniel Radcliffe a little joke. He joked that "50 Shades of Grey" fans were horribly upset that Radcliffe wasn't cast as series protagonist Christian Grey.
Radcliffe, of course, had a laugh, since even he realized that the story wasn't true; the radio personality was just having fun.
Listen to the audio here:
Since the audio segment aired, outlets from ET Online to PerezHilton.com have gone live with the story, claiming it's true. Some outlets, like The International Business Times, have even claimed that Radcliffe declined the role.
It has gained a life of its own, but, as we've verified with Kiss 92.5, the story (and all of its permutations) is definitely, completely untrue.
